It's +22C in Dallas, but from the person who is interested in cybersport's POV it is a lot hotter out there in USA since the biggest tournament of this summer is running at full speed -  CPL Extreme World Championship 2004.

Update by  Polosatiy:
I was unable to go to CPL since the lack of tickets. I will attend  Quake Con 2004 though.

Update by  Lexx:

Have no fear, Lexx is here =). Okay, I am about to do the coverage from this moment, stay tuned for kick-ass updates...

Latest updates:

01:02 - Since there won't be any interesting games in this round and most of the matches are finished with 13:2 and 13:0 score - I am going to sleep. The results will be updated in the morning, and the new matches will begin at 17:00 CET. Good night!

23:13 - Well, the results are kind of messy, the HLTV were lauched though (you can check the IPs at HLTV.org), as well as LiveBots (#cpl.cast1-8 @ QuakeNet), so it is easier to get the results now. There are rumours that team  compLexity was disqualified because of the lack of 5th player (grafx was kicked out of the event because of the fight incident), although there are rumours that they've found the 5th player after all. Update: yep, it is now confirmed, the 5th player is accepted.

Well, we will try to keep you updated about the results. As to HLTV - there are some problems with that thing out there in Dallas, we just have to wait. However the information can be found at the unofficial IRC channel - #cpl.dallas @ QuakeNet.

The Painkiller 1x1 games in which the first round doesn't mean anything significant will start at 22:00 CET. Everyone already knows who will pass further and who won't. Right here you can check out the tournament's table.

18:49 - At the moment we are waiting for the results of the first round's games, and just like it was promised, the final of online league  CAL-invite was held here in Dallas. The teams  Rival and  zEx had to play against each other. Well, since they had to - they've played, and the winners were Rival, who beat zEx 13:11 at de_inferno. Well, congratulations to them then.
