ASUS and c58 announce the beginning of cooperation

Cyberfight, the largest Russian eSport project (www.cyberfight.ru | www.cyberfight.org and eSport Team c58) and ASUS (www.asuscom.ru), the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality and innovative computers solutions, announce the start of the long-term cooperation program.

Starting october 1st, ASUSTeK Computer Inc. becomes technical sponsor of Cyberfight project. ASUS had provided modern and cutting-edge computer solutions for Team c58 practice, based on Intel Pentium 4 architecture and newest ASUSTeK peripherals - ASUS P4B533 motherboard, ASUS V8420/TD graphic card based on NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 chip and ASUS CD/DVD-ROM drive. Utilizing the power of provided support, Team c58 will be using the latest technology and will be able to train their abilities at maximal efficiency.

Official Team ASUS|c58 PC configuration:

  • Computer: ASUS midi-sized case, P4B533 ASUS Motherboard, ASUS 48x/16x CD/DVD-ROM, ASUS V8420/TD Graphics Card, Intel Pentium 4 2400B Socket478 CPU, Samsung DDR 512MB PC2700 SDRAM, Seagate 60GB 7200rpm UltraATA100 ST360021A HDD, 3Com 100Mbit Ethernet card.
  • Monitor: 17" Samsung 753DFX monitor.

The ASUS and Cyberfight cooperation plans include conduction of ASUS Open professional eSport competitions for nominations like Quake III: Arena, Unreal Tournament 2003 and Half-Life: Counter-Strike. More information will be additionally announced on November 2002.

Team c58 had become the first team in Russian history of such new sport as eSport, to be sponsored by the large-scale IT company - ASUS. Starting from October 2nd 2002, c58|Cyberfight team is changing their team tag to ASUS|c58 (ASUS|Cyberfight). And the players will be using this tag on every official competition match (e.g. - WCG 2002, Euro Cup leagues, Gib'n'Run). The most notable performance will be the participation of three Team c58 duelists (Cooller, uNkind, Jibo) on World Cyber Games 2002 in Korea during the period of 28 October - 4 November 2002 in Quake III: Arena nominations.

Founded in April 2001, the Cyberfight project (cyberfight.ru / cyberfight.org) is now the major international eSport-portal. During the period of 2001-2002, the project had become the most popular and the most visited gaming resource in Russia and outside the country. There are newsmakers and article writers from Russia, Netherlands, England, Israel and Korea. The portal actively participates in every event that is related to eSport in Russia and worldwide.

The eSport team of Cyberfight project successfully takes part in every major Russian and worldwide eSport competition. The team consists of players that had been winnning numerous times:

    * Roman "Polosatiy" Tarasenko - Year 2000 Silver prize winner of European championship in Quake III (CPL Cologne 2000): Arena nominations, fifth place at World Cyber Games Russia 2002.
    * The Counter-Strike Team c58 - Third place at World Cyber Games Russia 2002 in Half-Life: Counter-Strike nominations.
