q2dm2 are three big long pipes with passages between them. Each pipe has different elevators, control over them gives big priority in game. There's a point on q2dm2 around which a battle is always in progress. It's a big elevator leading to the red armor and the Railgun. There's no more armor on the level, only the Megahealth - it's important to take it all the time. The best is to take the following positions on the level:
The main position is the big elevator leading to the red armor. The most effctive is to stand on the big elevator looking down, your back against the wall, so you could notice a grenade thrown by enemy.
If you have the red armor and the Railgun, the best is not to sit above the elevator, but jump up on the platform with the armor controlling like this the lower part of the level. You can just watch respawns under the elevators - in case if an enemy spots there.
Second important position on the level is the elevator by the Rocket. Like this you control the Rocket, and also hold the position by the quad.
Third position is the elevator leading to the Megahealth. The Megahealth itself isn't that important, but this position allows you to cover the quad successfully. So, your team took 3 good positions on the level, and there's forth player left he plays supporting role for the rest, and it's desirable to leave the quad for him.
From the start, the forth player must take control over the Chaingun and hold the point under two elevators. By the time of the quad's spawn this player is to get up to the elevator, covered by a teammate, and get the quad.
In fact, the quad is very important in teamplay on q2dm2, as with its help change completely the situation on the level. For example, if the enemy holds the elevator, you can knock him out of there with quad hand grenades. And be watchful, when the quad is taken by enemy, while you're on an elevator. A bit of hesitaion, and and a quad grenade will make a mess of you.
If all is vice versa, and the enemy is on the elevator, and you're with quad, charge a grenade, wiat a couple of seconds, then throw it onto the elevator. If you missed, then change the range to clean the elevator for sure.
Now about subtle gameplay details. The player controlling the forth, supplementary position, mustn't forget to bring rockets to his teammate on the elevetor, taking the armor and the Railgun in the meantime.
One of the ways to take control over the elevator is rocketjumpnYou can do it in differnt ways, but the best is to make a rocketjump to the red armor and wait for the enemy coming out of the elevator.
The second rocketjump up you can do from the small elevator. Like this you can catch the enemy on the elevator.
