c58|d1monn: Greetings Mikes, how is your mood now when you are back from QLAN 2?
Mikes: Unfortunately I am unable to say that my mood is perfect, but in case I will say that it is good, it will be true :-) this is all because we were not the 1st place owners...
c58|d1monn: Can you please tell us about your impressions? How was the tourney organized like and what were the most remarkable things?
Mikes: The Sweden itself reminds me of a village :-), at least the part which I saw. People are relaxed, and this is felt right after the first minutes after landing :-). They are just sitting in their gardens, decorating fences with various flowers. As to the tournament itself, I would not rate it more than 4- in the 5 grade scale. Even though it was organized by quake players themselves. Pretty ugly organization of tournament games ruined the fun - each team should have played n-number of games until set time. This would have been convenient especially since it was hard to find the oponent with their squad ready, everyone was running in sleeping hall, bars, kebabs, shops etc. In the end everyone suffered from the huge delays. I had an impression that the main TDM admin -sizah, had made only the tournament's table in Exel, and that's it. During Day 2 we have faced a pretty funny situation - we did not play our last game in the group since our oponents were playing 1vs1/ra3 or they were just somewhere away all the time, almighty sizah came to me and said "it will be ok if I put you to losers brackets?", I was like - no way dude, and had to reply with "f#ck off" quote, after this I went to meet some familiar Swedes who helped me to find our runaway oponents. After an hour spent for searchring the oponents and listening to sizah's whine the game has been played, and we did not receive default loss.
c58|d1monn: You have been playing together with proZaC during the whole tournament. How can you rate his current skill?
Mikes: During the Day 1 we were playing a lot of duels and during all matches proZaC was doing an amazing effort in order to balance the teamplay in our team, he was doing it so hard, that he even lost his voice and during the next two days he could only whisper :-). On the whole he is a perfect defender, he is capable of holding his point tightly, you can always be sure that he is in the right position all the time and will not go for some free-frag. During our conversations he said that he is not playing Quake 3 at all, and came only because I have asked him to. During his free time he is playing QW since he likes this game whole lot more than q3 :-) However this did not affect his game at all, during all games he was a top-notch player.
c58|d1monn: Which match was the most remarkable and why? What was Team Moscow lacking in order to beat the Climbers?
Mikes: Of course our first match against iCE cLIMBERS. We were preparing amazingly serious for this game and were in the lead for the first 10 minutes during both maps, but we were not able to pick quad during most of the times given, and this affected the final result. We were also missing cooKKie, in case he'd show up we would have won for sure. Superfinal was not played at all, I mean we were unable to play it since it was 8AM in Moscow, and we were not sleeping at all, meanwhile the Swedes were going away to Sleeping hall in order to have some rest and sleep after every game. I have been trying to make agreement that we will go to sleep for a while before the final game, but iC said that they are going away in the morning and we were forced to "play".
c58|d1monn: What are your future plans?
Mikes: Work :-) I have almost dropped playing Quake 3 almost a year ago, and now I have been training only in order to beat ic. Unfortunately it did not happen. From now on I will play only for fun in Nations Cup. However since these rumors about ASUS Summer are floating in the air, I might start training again, of course in case you will bring us iCE cLIMBERS :) (there is a chance that ASUS and Cyberfight will pay the trip for iC to come for the 4x4 event /Lexx)
