Cyberfight: Hey Cooller, how's life? [4z]Cooller: Sup Lexx! Everything's fine, just came back from Wipeout LAN
Cyberfight: How was you flight and trip to the Event it self? [4z]Cooller: It was hard to travel all alone, however I flew into another city. My friends met me, one of them was Russian, but he lives in Sweitzerland, it's sk1ll - miZ. After they've met me we went to internet cafe and after couple of hours went to Wipeout LAN by car. The place of the event was a small city near the mountains. Actually the whole landscape has a lot of mountains. This city is mainly for tourists, a lot of hotels and stuff. And there is this special complex, I actually didn't understand what it is used for, since there were a lot of dog posters I came up with the idea that it's dog exhibition. :)
Cyberfight: How did the tournament go? [4z]Cooller: Everything went okay, even though rather slow, considering there were no much participants around. Everyone was pissed about the organization. But I don't blame people who organized the event, I can't even imagine how hard it is to settle the things up, so everyone’s feel good. It was very cold inside the building just like on the street, 0, +5 max. I've spent first day wearing my jacket, gloves, hat and scarf. Later on it got heated up and it became better place to play in. When we arrived at the place it was already too late. All facilities officially close at 18-19, while we arrived at 23:00. No place to sleep, so we had to spend half of the night walking around this small town, and when it was almost morning we've finally rented a hotel with a room for two. Prices are huge, we were paying around 80-90$ for the night, and the hotel looked like ***, not more.
Cyberfight: Tell us a little about the games. Were there any close games during the tournament? [4z]Cooller: Like I already said, there weren't much participants around, 20 people registered for Quake 3. Only 4 of them were familiar for me, Zamuz, Stremy, TheFou and Polter. I've had to play Polter in my Group, he qualified as second. After that - Double Elimination was made, and in 2nd round I was playing thefou. Beat him easily, next game was supposed to be winners final vs Zamuz.

Cyberfight: And how was it? [4z]Cooller: It ended up with my victory, I beat him at dm6 and ztn with about 15 frag difference.
Cyberfight: What about Super final? After watching the final demo a lot of people stated that you won that game by luck, that it was Z4muZ's game after all and so on. What can you say about it? [4z]Cooller: After Winners Final I didn't use my PC for about two hours, when the time came I started with a little warm-up for 30 minutes and the game began. By the way, the game was on ZamuZ's map, since organizers changed the rules of the final, I wanted to play dm6 and he wanted ztn. But for some unknown reason they've decided to choose T4 as final map. I've asked ZamuZ what he wanted to play, and he said - ZTN. As to the game and people saying that this game should have been won by ZamuZ - I can't agree. I have lots of reasons for that one. During the moment when ZamuZ got lagged - he'd have died anyway, and it's clearly seen that I left him a lot of times at respawns. And by the way, I did actually offer him to replay the game, but he refused and said that I won. I'd own him anyway :D
Cyberfight: How were you preparing for Wipeout Lan? [4z]Cooller: Like always, few hours a day during a week before the tournament, I didn't play at all during last days, I just got really bored.
Cyberfight: Did you receive your prize right at the event, or they've promised to send them later? [4z]Cooller: It doesn't happen very often when you get money at once on a LAN. But I have a guarantee; they gave me a document that claims them paying me the money, like confirmation document.
Cyberfight: Was there a closing or opening ceremony? Or they've just offered you to leave the place? [4z]Cooller: There wasn't Closing Ceremony, only Opening one. But I've missed it because I didn't sleep at all the night before.
Cyberfight: What did you do after the event? [4z]Cooller: Heh, ate supper, said goodbye to everyone and left to city from where I came. Didn't have much time for entertainment. |
