Polosatiy: Introduce yourself please? All|randlock: My name is Yimmie Karlsson, im 19 years old and I live in northern of Sweden.
Polosatiy: Tell me some about your gaming career? All|randlock: I started out with Q3 in the early beta... it was my first computer and i hadn't played any sort of games before that. I played with the keyboard and i knew nothing... Then i meet this friend who had played QW for years... and he taught me everything.. Later on i started to like it very much and played alot, noticed how my skill effectively increased. I won alot of small lans in the northern area of Sweden.. In bigger tours i placed third at Dreamhack 2001, and 4th at Qlan. Got defeated by Fox both times.
Polosatiy: Did you ask ESWC admins to give you place on a tournament? All|randlock: No, i didn't even send in a intrest application, i just didn't have enough money to go there. I was saving up for QuakeCon, got myself a seat and everything, but as things look right now, i wont go there either. Ive been invited to alot of other tours thou, but i have mostly turned them down.
Polosatiy: So you not going to Qcon? All|randlock: As i said, i was going too, but it seems that i wont afford it either. There was some problems with the flight, so i waited way to long to order my ticket... and now.. its soooo expensive. I simply can't afford it now. (It was alot cheaper 1-2 months ago).
Polosatiy: What's your role in Allstars clan? All|randlock: At this point, Allstars is just a duel clan... The active players are me Z4muZ and Aim... Z4muZ and Aim are going to Quakecon this year. I have really no particular role in the clan, im a duel player.. but if we decide to start with TDM im all for it. I know the other members pretty good, especially Aim Z4muZ and LakermaN, its a nice clan and a good atmosphere... even the inactive players (Doomer, Nirvana, Blue, Laker, Treble) are in the priv channel and talking.
Polosatiy: Have your tried UT2003? Will you still playing quake or will attend wcg ut2k3 qualifiers? All|randlock: I have tried some Ut2k3... and it is actually pretty cool.. but for now i'll stay with q3... but i don't know for how long.
Polosatiy: Is WCG a sense of all progamers, not really? All|randlock: Of course you want to compete with the best and show your skills. But i don't think i will find ut2k3 that fun, for so long. I think Quake suits my gaming style abit more. Im not sure thou, since i haven't played THAT much Ut2k3. Im pretty uncertain what my future of gaming holds. We'll just have to wait and see about that :)
Polosatiy: You played swedish lans only or some international? All|randlock: Well i sure want to, at this point i have only competed at swedish tours... the only international play i play is online tournaments.. :p The plans are big thou... but things just doesn't work out all the time. I was planning to go to Lan-Europe, but that got cancelled. I also planned to go to QuakeCon, but that didn't work out either. Aim told me about some big Danish invite tourney short after QuakeCon, maybe i'll go there and play.
Polosatiy: Have you watched ESWC demos? Your Top5?? All|randlock: I followed ESWC closely. So i have seen alot of games from it. I was really impressed by Lexer and Fazz. Who has improved their game drastically over the last month. If i would to say my top5 players from my point of view today, i would have to stick with the ESWC results.. But before the tour, i predicted: Cooller - Unkind - ZeRo - Z4muZ - Fox. Not really in that order, but whatever :p
Polosatiy: There is a match for the absolute Quake 3 world championship between uNkind and Cooller gonna be. What's your prediction? All|randlock: Oh, cool. Hmm.. i think that Cooller will take that one 2-1. Its a tough prediction. I think the fame is more important at that point ;)
Polosatiy: What do you do while you not playing? All|randlock: Well, i do most of the normal stuff like drinking, hanging out with friends, watch movies and stuff like that. But i also like it alone, so i spend alot of time by myself. I have a big interest for the paranormal. So i have alot of things and stuff to work with, and explore :p
Polosatiy: What's your pc, connection etc and how much you practice per day? All|randlock: I use a T-bird 1400 with a Gf2 gts pro 64 graphics card.. I use a Mx500 and a Microsoft internet Keyboard. I use a ingo.se mousepad :p My internet connection is "Telia ADSL" thats 512/512 kbits... How much i practice... hmm at this point its not much, since there is no close tour for me. But before a tour there are about 4-6 hours a day, but thats not just playing, its also about watching demos and see what i can improve. You can't just play and play and think that you will get better, you need to know what's right and what's wrong, so you can improve and embrace it.
