Subbert: Hi Socrates, first of all, how are you :D?
Socrates: doin pretty well.

Subbert: Can you tell us a bit about yourself ?
Socrates: Well, first off, my name is jason sylka , from buffalo ny, 21 years of age and 155lbs, white male,
about 2 meters tall and single.

Subbert: There are many big names like zero4, fatal1ty, lexer attending Qcon.. what are your predictions ?
Socrates: Its up for grabs, the game has been around for long enough and people know what they have to do to win.
There will be a lot more competetion to watch out other than those 3 said names.
I cant say i know who will win, but the next best answer is myself.
Im not traveling to try to have someone else win :D

Subbert: What do you expect from yourself ?
Socrates: I'm preparing for the worst, and the best. I compete to win. I want the win. Who wants to lose ?

Subbert: How do you think the europeans will do against the US players ?
Socrates: I dont know much of who is actually going to make the trip to mesquite, but nonetheless, they will fall, as usual.

Subbert: How did you practise? do you have a training mate or so?
Socrates: my connection only lets me play on one server. I dont get much practice online,
but when i do i play w/ my mates raab himself, kradenko, czm.
Doom skill 3 is my main advesary, i will play him multiple hours of the day. I've been lanning lately too..

Subbert: QuakeCon added a new map, which is ospdm8. It hasn't been played yet on any tournament before. What do you think of that map? what do you expect to do vs other big players on that map ?
Socrates: It is a strange map, ive played it with a few different people.
Its tough to say how it will perform with good players. I personally dont really like the map all that much.
We shall see how eachother fairs on it in a few.

Subbert: On the other hand, there is no q3tourney2, what do you think of the choice QCon made?
Socrates: I think it was a bad move, but who am I? q3tourney2 was the best dueling map since the beginning.
I have no idea what reasons where behind ommitting this map, but its not logical.

Subbert: The most people will expect that ZeRo4 or Fatal1ty is gonna win this tournament, do you know underdogs who can be a big suprise ?
Socrates: I dont know much about anyone these days.
But from looking at the quakeconreg.page i'd look out for players like Elite_Fugu, Tsunami, and BlueThunder-SM- to have the breakthrough performances.

Subbert: What direction do you think the CPL should go in terms of platform in the next year(s), is there still room for Q3 ? there is also a lack of leagues doing Q3 now, is Q3's end coming near you think ?
Socrates: I have no idea really. I assume uk2k3 will be the new hottness. I think its a worthless argument here. Time will tell.

Subbert: Do you think about switching over to games like CS/UT? or maybe Q4 or Doom3 later ?
Socrates: We shall see. maybe ut2k3. that is if i have time with school and all..

Subbert: What is the thing that makes CS still so big and active you think ?
Socrates: I dunno, my guess would be that its more realistic and has somewhat real scenarios to play around.. maybe?

Subbert: Do you prefer a QuakeCon with also TDM? or just duel? and why is that...
Socrates: ill stick w/ duel. i dont do teamplay :D

Subbert: What is a big difference you think in the game-style between the europeans and americans?
Socrates: not sure, i havnt studied demos or anything to be honest.. i cant give a straight answer, or else i would be lying

Subbert: What would you do with the money if you won the tournament? :D
Socrates: Not sure, i try not to be blinded by prizes until i have them.

Subbert: Who were your idols when you started to play q3 serious?
Socrates: Not really idols. but i played vise a lot. blue was inspiration. dunno, i made my own path, but not without help from others.

Subbert: How important is this tourney for you? are you really going for the win or more for the fun and experience at the lan ?
Socrates: I love competition, and im going to win. The experience will evolve over the course of this trip. gl to me!

Subbert: What are gonna do after this tournament? are gonna participate the World Cyber Games ?
Socrates: i may, most likely. I got school starting in 1.3 weeks, and i got mad classes this semester. We shall see with time.

Subbert: Did you ever felt like, "damn, why did i ever start playing games" ?
Socrates: ive been competing ever since mortal kombat 2. :D i never ask why, cause its all been great so far.

Subbert: What do you think about progaming's future ?
Socrates: i would like to hope its only going up.. but thats just my opinion..

Subbert: What kind of music you like ?
Socrates: Anything really, my bag is really jungle, dnb, NIN and marilyn manson :D

Subbert: What kind of drink you like? beer ?
Socrates: beer. that will go straight to my gut. wine is where its at. Boxed wizzy here in the states is rules.

Subbert: What are your Q3 devices? mouse, keyboard, mousepad, headphones?
Socrates: I use MS 3.0 optical mouse. iBm keyboard, regular cloth pad and i have Technics rpdj1200 headphones.. D:
